What is Vata Dosha ? (Air Element)
Vata (Air + Space) is popularly referred to as the airy dosha, and has the properties of being cool, dry, and unstable. This dosha is responsible for any kind of movement that takes place in the body. These include our regular daily life routine actions to the subtle and dynamic movements that take place within the body.
At the microlevel of the gene, signals are initiated by Vata. At all levels transmission, transport system, movement, conduction of nervous system, sensation, etc. Vata is responsible for circulatory, respiratory, excretory, and digestive systems. It is also responsible for enthusiasm, speech, and sense-acuity.
Vata Imbalance:
An imbalance of Vata usually results in gas, flatulence, migraine, instability of mind, fatigue, jumpiness, spaciness in the head, or pain of any kind present anywhere in the body. Vata imbalance typically manifests as irregularity, pain, dryness, or weakness.
When in balance Vata exudes creativity, spontaneity, and spirituality.
